Guide 1 of 6
Your first visit
You can look at all of this without giving anyone your name. Here’s what you’re looking at, and what changes once you join. One thing up front: what we run is secular, and families of every faith and none are welcome.
Looking needs no account at all
No password, no sign-up form. Open the board and you can already see what’s on, roughly where, and how many kids are coming: that’s the whole of what a browsing visitor gets, and it costs nothing forever.
Taking part, saying you’re coming, putting up an idea, commenting, paying for a place, is for members. Join with a card on file (from $2 a month) or an invite code, and only then does anything you do get counted against your family.
The board, in one paragraph
Every activity sits under one of three tabs. Events, where the board opens, is booked and going ahead. Places open means whoever’s running it has a teacher or a venue to pay before the day, so places are being paid for. Ideas is where everything begins: somebody asking “would anyone come to this?”. It runs when enough of us are in.
Ideas have no deadline: one can sit on the board for as long as it takes to find its people, and nothing drops off on a timer. Reaching the number it asked for just tells whoever’s running it, and they decide what happens next.
For members: the one tap that matters
Once you’ve joined, on anything in the Ideas tab there’s a button that says “I’d come”. Tapping it promises nothing beyond honesty: it tells whoever offered to run the thing whether it’s worth booking. You can take your name off any time before places are paid for.
Free things with no minimum say “I’m coming” instead, and mean exactly that. Regular things say “I’m interested”, and you pick which days you’re in on the event page. Not a member yet? You can still watch the count grow on any card, you just aren’t part of it until you join.
Where everything lives
Board is the funnel above: everything being planned.
Calendar is everything with a date on it, and you can subscribe once to see club events on your own phone’s calendar.
Short notice is today-and-tomorrow: park this afternoon, beach tomorrow. No minimum, nothing to book, its own page so it never gets buried.
You is your family: your name if you want one shown, your kids’ ages if you want those shown, alerts, and devices.
Join is where you become a member, or use an invite code if you’ve got one: from $2 a month, or free with a code.
How it works is the story version of all this, and these guides are the reference.
Worth doing in your first five minutes
None of it is required, but: take the one-minute tour if you haven’t, and look through the Ideas tab to see what’s already brewing. If any of it is for you, join and add your family to the count; once you’re in, decide on the You page whether other members see your name or just your number.
That’s it. Everything else on the board explains itself when you get to it.
